The EDPA Foundation was formed in December 2002. It is a foundation led by executives from all segments of the industry that have a common goal: the heartfelt desire to reach out to our peers in their time of need. We have united to provide a helping hand to the people in our industry when they face challenges in their lives. Our goals are threefold:

(1) Provide financial support for the families of industry members when tragedy strikes.
(2) Award scholarships
to engage creative thinkers who will be the trailblazers and leaders of tomorrow.
(3) Ensure the future of the foundation
and its good work.

We rely on the generosity of individuals and corporations to help those in need. Your contribution means a great deal to EDPAF and each of its board members but even more to the families who will be touched by your thoughtfulness during one of the most emotional and challenging times of their life. No contribution is too small.

The EDPA Foundation is the culmination of many individuals' vision for an organization that is dedicated to giving back to the trade show/event industry.

In the Spring of 2001 the original founders of the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic approached EDPA seeking an opportunity to place the success of this activity in the hands of a larger organization with the resources to over see the event and ensure that it continued in the tradition of supporting those in our industry who most need our help.

The Board of Directors of EDPA quickly recognized this as just the catalyst required to unite the energies of those members of the trade show/event industry who had been seeking a platform to give back to the industry from which they had credited for their own good fortunes.

Recognizing the existing equity that EDPA already possessed in their International Student Design Scholarship Competition and Silent Auction, the Board of Directors moved to bring all of these good deed initiatives under one umbrella to leverage their individual values and create an organization that could better focus on the three primary missions of the Foundation independently of the core mandates of the EDPA itself.
